Launching “Appetime SPICE”, the original brand watch and opening of the “Appetime 2nd anniversary exhibition -Appetime Spice/Yahagi Tamon exhibition-“This is the first time, that the chronograph function has been loaded in the “Appetime series”

Seiko Instruments Inc. (abbreviated:SII, COO:Akio Irie, Head office:8, Nakase, 1-Chome, Mihama-ku, Chiba-shi, Chiba. TEL: +81-43-211-1111) will launch the new series “Appetime Spice”, a variant of Appetime, its original brand, from October 21, 2002.

Maintaining the similarity with its the former Ice cream series, the Duck series, the Flower series and the Nude series, “Appetime SPICE” is also characterized by the availability in 8 various colors. In addition to this, it has the popular chronograph functions. “Appetime SPICE” literally means the spice of food as an image, because it does not only look natural but is also colorful. Its theme is in tune with the “Ethnic &Subdued(soft colors)” of the ’02- ’03 autumn-winter color trend. Also, it is a fashionable watch and has a high functionality, with a clearly visible needle and dial having nocturnal luminescence. In addition it is also equipped with the mechanism, whereby the band can fit even those people with thin wrists and various people regardless of age or sex can wear it.

Further, commemorating the 2nd anniversary of the launch of the Appetime brand and the commencement of sales of Appetime SPICE, the “Appetime 2nd anniversary exhibition- Appetime Spice/Yanehagi Oikiku exhibition”, will be held at the Spiral in Aoyama, Tokyo from the 26th October till the 29th October. In this exhibition, all models of Appetime, which have been sold in the last 2 years, will be on display as well as sale. Also, the works of Yanehagi Oikiku and the artists who have cooperated for the visual images on the leaflet of “Appetime SPICE” will be on display.

In future, the development of the series of “Appetime” casual watches, not only having variety of colors, but are also fashionable and yet economical, will be continued.

[Introduction of Yahagi Tamon]
Born in Yokohama in 1980.
Travels to India and Nepal every year since 1990.
Started drawing miniature paintings with pen, after getting inspiration in 1994.
In 1995, displayed his works at the Gallery Paris(Yokohama).
Put up his private exhibition, year after year from 1995-1998 at ST Spot (Yokohama).
Put up his private exhibitions from 1999 at Fantasy gallery, Fine arts museum and Helmet house picture gallery, etc. in Ginza.
His first book “India, a complete model by Tamono” was published in Spring 2002(Harukaze Co.) Presently, lives in Bangalore in Southern India or Yokohama.
