High Reliability, 125ºC Operating Temperature, 3-wire serial EEPROM "S-93A46A/56A/66A" Series Release

Seiko Instruments Inc. releases the 3-wire serial 1/2/4 k-bit EEPROM S-93A46A/56A/66A Series which can operate at 125ºC (with high reliability) with an endurance of 1 million read / write cycles at 85ºC.
The S-93A46A/56A/66A Series main features include:
(1) high temperature operation of -40ºC to +125ºC,
(2) endurance of 1 million read / write cycles at +85ºC and 150,000 at +125ºC,
(3) 15-year data retention after 150,000-cycle rewriting at + 125ºC,
(4) excellent data protection functionality,
(5) process traceability function for chip.
Therefore it can be used for automobile electrical components which have to work under demanding restrictions including high temperature operation with high reliability.

Features
1. Capable of high temperature operation: -40 to +125ºC

2. Endurance of 1 million cycles at +85ºC and 150,000 cycles at +125ºC

3. 15-year data retention after 150,000-cycle rewriting at +125ºC
15-year data retention both after 1-million-cycle rewriting at 85ºC and 150,000-cycle rewriting at 125ºC is attained. Together with the above-mentioned high temperature operation and high endurance the S-93A46A/56A/66A Series is ideal for use in severe environments such as automobile electrical components, industrial equipment, medical equipment, and home security.

4. Data protection function
The built-in voltage detector prevents malfunction at low voltage, and the S-93A46A/56A/66A Series incorporates a function to prevent erroneous write instructions due to incorrect recognition resulting from noise.

5. Package: 8-pin SOP

Applications
For automobile application
Engine ECU (Electronic Control Unit)
ABS (Antilock Braking System)
VSC (Vehicle Stability Control)
ATC (Automatic Transmission Control Unit)
EPS (Electrical Power Steering)
Odometer
HID (Discharge Headlamp)
EEPROM are used for storing Product ID, control data and fault diagnostic data in the above systems.
