Seiko instruments inc. releases the S-1200 Series high ripple-rejection low dropout CMOS voltage regulator which features
(1) low current consumption of 18μA typ. during operation (industry’s lowest level for CMOS high ripple-rejection type*1),
(2) 0.1μF ceramic capacitors may be used on input and output, and
(3) high ripple-rejection ratio of 70dB.
The S-1200 Series is the industry leader for current consumption among CMOS high ripple rejection LDOs with a current consumption of only 18μA typ. during operation. In addition the S-1200 Series allows for a smaller circuit footprint due to stable operation with the input and output capacitors as low as 0.1μF ceramic capacitors. These two key features make the S-1200 ideal for battery operated electronic devices. The various demands of digital signal equipment such as noise reduction, miniaturization and low current consumption are all realized by the S-1200 Series. To meet these demands SII continues to develop products to meet and exceed these requirements.

The S-1200 Series realizes low current consumption of 18μA during operation with high ripple-rejection ratio of 70dB.
2. Small external 0.1μF ceramic capacitors can be used for both input and output capacitors.
Small 0.1µF ceramic capacitors can be used both on input and output. Ceramic capacitors enable smaller size, higher density mounting, and improved safety of the circuit.
