San Diego, March 3, 2005– Seiko I Infotech announced today that it will introduce a new 100-inch, six-color solvent inkjet printer named the “Colorpainter 100SX” at the upcoming ISA (International Sign Association) show in Las Vegas, March 31st – April 2nd. The ColorPainter 100SX offers many of the features and functions of the company’s other solvent printer, the popular ColorPainter 64S, including the same advanced six-color solvent EG-outdoor Ink set, (EG stands for expanded gamut). But the ColorPainter 100SX offers several distinct improvements and new features: media support for rolls up to 242 lbs., a new 540 x 720 dpi, 4-pass, bi-directional print mode that offers 220 sqfh speed with superb color density, mesh media printing without liner, and double-side printing. Pat Ryan, General Manager of Seiko I Infotech – Americas, states, “Adding the ColorPainter 100SX to our solvent product line will enable us to offer a wider range of products to our customers. With its performance, media versatility, outdoor durability, and amazing color, we believe the ColorPainter 100SX will be a very popular product in the “grand format” market space.”
The ColorPainter 100SX grand-format printer features 6 industrial piezo-electric heads, with 512 nozzles each, (for a total of 3,072 nozzles). It boasts speeds of up to 332 sfph, a true resolution of 720 DPI, and the capability to print onto uncoated media up to 102″ wide. Seiko I Infotech, Inc. has tested and confirmed compatibility with leading media manufactures of vinyl, banner, mesh, and textiles, (a complete list will be published on the Seiko I Infotech website (www.seiko-i.com) prior to its release date).
All major RIP software manufacturers have expressed support for the new printer, and will release products supporting the ColorPainter 100SX prior to the products expected shipping date of June 10th (for list of these partners please check the Seiko-I Infotech website (www.seiko-i.com) prior to its release date).
The ColorPainter 100SX will be debuted at the ISA show in Las Vegas, Nevada, March 31st- April 2nd, in island booth # XXX.
